Here’s a sneak peek at what the future might hold for us in terms of automobile safety technology. The Vortex Mini Car is a two seat concept automobile that is predominantly focussed on passenger safety. To achieve this, the Vortex veers onto a futuristic path which will see it using futuristic materials for it’s construction. Over and above the mechanical and electronic methods of safety, we now have advanced materials like polyfoam. This concept too will see the usage of polyfoam for it’s body. Upon impact, this polyfoam will deform into the air pockets present in the car’s interior, thus absorbing all the impact. Looks wise this car appears a cross between a dune buggy and a contraption from a sci-fi flick. Though this might be the shape of future automobiles, I personally don’t like the Vortex’s un-automobile like shape. Maybe, that’s the price to pay for absolute safety.
